Lindsay Asawa, PhD, Clinical Psychologist (Co-Founder)
Dr. Lindsay Asawa completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She also completed a clinical internship at Baylor College of Medicine and post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Dr. Asawa specializes in working with children and families to evaluate and address many of the common problems that arise in the home and school settings. She has 10 years of experience evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Asawa has trained and worked in private practice, university clinics, and hospital settings across three states. During that time, she has also gained experience teaching workshops and facilitating treatment groups for parents and children. At Missouri City Family Counseling, Dr. Asawa offers educational workshops and seminars on a variety of topics.
Dr. Asawa provides a range of evaluations for individuals of all ages. She utilizes evidence-based assessments and treatment recommendations, incorporating both cognitive-behavioral and family systems approaches. All evaluations include detailed written reports with diagnoses and recommendations, as well as parent feedback sessions. Dr. Asawa is passionate about partnering with parents and individuals to determine an accurate diagnosis, develop an effective treatment plan, and provide the referrals and resources that are needed.
