Julie Ung, MA, LMFT, LPC (Co-Founder)
Julie holds a Master’s degree in Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clear Lake. For the past 10 years, she has provided mental health services serving children and families in a variety of settings including inpatient services, outpatient services, home based settings, and residential treatment centers at Depelchin Children’s Center.
Julie has extensive training and experience working with trauma stemming from abuse and neglect, attachment related difficulties, behavioral difficulties, and mood disorders. Julie is specifically trained to utilize techniques and approaches including Play therapy, TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) techniques, TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy).
Julie also has a special interest in working with couples who are experiencing relationship dissatisfaction, disconnection, and high conflict. Julie works with couples who need support with infidelity, communication difficulties, divorce, blended families, parenting or even just marriage enrichment. Julie utilizes EFT (Emotions Focused Therapy) and Gottman principles in her work with couples.
Julie tailors her approaches and applications to the client’s needs. Julie’s style is collaborative, honest, relaxed, and friendly. Julie has been married for 10 years and is a mother to 2 boys. In the state of Texas, she is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT #201258) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #64363).
